Laurent Dubois stars in Oranix Inx's new film: Liberté.

It has officially been announced by Oranix Inx's social media accounts that Laurent Dubois, the esteemed actor who has recently featured in some indie films, has been cast as a lead role in the film 'Liberté'. The film also stars the up and coming actress Cassie Cloud, with a busy work schedule as she juggles the film release with her book tour. More on this here.

The actor's catalogue is ever growing, as we see with the announcement, and it seems that it will continue to for the foreseeable future. We spoke with Dubois where he mentioned that he feels 'passionately about the entertainment business and [has] done since [he] was young'. Music is something which inspires him as he directly sees people interact (streaming numbers increasing), he remembers that 'people want to see me. Upon every release I am reminded that I am surrounded by people who care, they're interested in what I make. On days where I'm low or unmotivated I just remember that it's not just me that I'm doing this for and I love that'.

Since the start of 2019, Dubois has featured in five films, from in front of the camera to behind. He has produced, directed, co-produced and even dipped his foot into editing. The multi-talented man has also released a full length album of which he has been working on 'for what seems like forever'. Three of his film productions are from his production company 'Dubois Productions' which he set up in early 2018 to help young or inexperienced filmmakers make it big in the business. He offers personal insight on all projects the company takes on, his advice has been described to have been a 'turning point' for director Jordan Holliday's 'VIP' (2018).

Liberté is a film production which highlights the struggles as an outcast of modern society,; Dubois and Cloud's characters are rejected from their local society because of how they express themselves despite being truly cheery, caring and compassionate. They find themselves running away together to create new life, meeting people who deeply relate to their situation, they realise: they are not alone. Although, of course, there are some struggles along the way. Will they accept each other for all their flaws? Will everyone accept them? Will anyone accept them?

See 'Liberté' in all cinemas on 14th May 2021, it will be available on streaming platforms on 15th June.
