A very important part of working in the creative media industries is giving yourself presence whether that be in real life or online social situations. A conversation with someone in the business who can see your flair and understand your mindset, how you work in your field /s and how this may interact with their own likings. From here, they can see if they would like to contact you for potential collaboration. I worked with mindset in a few ways:

A CV is almost vital when it comes to the working working world, and with the creative media industries it can be a chance to show your flair and personality through design. This is what makes it stand out to the rest, as well as the content, of course. Here you list your professional experiences and best skillset so that potential employers will see if you are the right candidate for the job. I included my photo so I seem more personable and friendly and kept the same house style through my CV, business card and website for consistency and fluency.

Similarly to a CV, a business card is a way to put yourself out three. They're small enough to be simply kept in a pocket of a jacket..if you have pockets of course. A small debit card sized piece of card with your details on to then be contactable if you might have ran into someone in the street or maybe you're at a networking event. Another example may an interviewer so that they remember you, especially as a media job, having a QR code to your CV for easy accessibility will make you seem organised and memorable.

With this, I created a website which houses my portfolio as well as some information about me, my experience in the industry and where I plan to go in it. This is linked here.

One page on my website tell you a bit about me, from my interests in the industry and what I plan to do in both the near and further future. This is because by sharing some of your personality, as well as some information about your personal plans, helps share with the audience that you are engaged in both the industry and to become a potential networking connection. I shared about my interests and ongoing photography journey which links to a relevant Instagram account. '

Portfolio:

In order to let people know what you are capable of, your abilities, showcasing your work via a portfolio is a great way to go. I have a few pages dedicated to this on my website. You can see my videography work, as well as graphics and some of my photography. I have separated my content into sections so it is then easier to navigate the catalogue as on onlooker.

One great site that I have used for this, which is used no matter what industry you work or aspire to, is LinkedIn. A place where you can share your work experience virtually (even easier than on a CV) on a timeline and easily see your qualities and skills, which other people on the site can 'endorse'. This is great because you can follow groups and pages of topics which are relevant to your interests and career. For example, to the left we see a list of tools which you can use to grow your LinkedIn experience, the top bar 'connections' can be seen below. This is the list of other users which you have made your existence apparent to, maybe they will like your profile and then go on to

get in contact for a potential contact you for potential job opportunities. Following on from this, the groups and organisations can be essential in your LinkedIn experience, with companies building a place where they ill post about their up and coming events is great for their employees and those aspire to be in that group. This is why I follow my preferred University, Salford University, so if they post any tips on their application process or information about their events, I am then in the know for it to help me.

As well as this, you can follow general groups of themes, like Film, so people with these interests can share experiences and opportunities which might help everyone with an interest in the same industry, whether that be via a job or a hobby.

Another great online platform which is popular when it comes to the creative media industry, though through different means is the social platform Instagram.com. This is mainly used by showcasing your work and the behind the scenes to some of your shoots, giving your audience more of a flair of what you're about. By showing your personality a little more through your captions and stories. The very basis of Instagram is to show photos and videos, which means the range of things which you can post can be as varied as you make it. In my case, I am using my stories and keeping them available for the future by using the Instagram's 'highlight' system, where you can save them and group them for future.
